3 Mobile Releases iPhone Pricing

Nearly one month after the iPhone 3GS was launched on Optus, Vodafone and Telstra; 3 has announced that the pricing of the iPhone on their network, three days before it is set to go out on sale on July 17; and in line with its youth-focus brand, those will have to pay less to get a free iPhone 3GS 16GB than Optus.

There will be three plans available for customers: a $39 Cap with 150MB included data, a $49 cap with 250MB included data and a $79 cap with 1GB of included data. However, to get the iPhone 3G, or the iPhone 3GS 16GB model, you will need to get the $79 cap; while the 32GB version requires you to pay $10 per month extra.

There is also “The Works” plan, which costs $110 a month with 3000 minutes of calling, 500 SMS or MMS messages and 3GB of internet data. The phone will be free on the 16GB, but $5 per month extra for those who want the 32GB.

Existing customers, however, don’t need to change their plan, but will be required to pay an additional fee every month. The iPhone 3G is an additional $35 a month, the iPhone 3GS 16GB costs an extra $40, and the iPhone 3GS 32GB costs an extra $45 a month.
